Shih Tzus were highly prized in the imperial court and rarely seen outside of it. After the fall of the Chinese monarchy, the breed was introduced to the Western world in the early 20th century. Today, Shih Tzus are known for their affectionate nature and charming appearance, making them popular companion dogs around the world.
