French Bulldog

Description:
Playful and compact, French Bulldogs are charming companions known for their expressive faces, adaptability to city living, and strong bonds with their owners.

Fun Fact:
French Bulldogs cannot swim well due to their body structure, so they should always be supervised near water.

History:
The French Bulldog originated in the 1800s when English lace workers migrated to France, bringing with them small toy Bulldogs. In France, these dogs were bred with local ratters, resulting in a smaller companion dog with distinctive bat ears. The breed quickly became popular among Parisian society, including artists, writers, and the working class alike. Their charming personalities and compact size made them ideal companions for city living. By the late 19th century, the breed had gained international recognition, and American breeders helped standardize the now iconic bat ear trait. Today, French Bulldogs remain one of the most popular companion breeds worldwide.
