History:
The Corgi, specifically the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, originated in Wales where it was bred as a herding dog for cattle and sheep. Its short stature allowed it to nip at the heels of livestock while avoiding kicks. The breed dates back at least a thousand years and is believed to have been brought to Wales by Flemish weavers. Corgis became widely known after being favored by Queen Elizabeth II, which significantly increased their popularity. Today, they are loved for their intelligence, loyalty, and cheerful personality, making them excellent family pets.
