History:
The Whippet originated in England during the 19th century and was bred from Greyhounds and smaller terriers. It was developed as a racing and hunting dog for working class people who could not afford larger Greyhounds. Known as the poor mans racehorse, Whippets excelled in racing and rabbit hunting. Over time, they became popular as companion animals due to their gentle and calm nature indoors. Today, Whippets are valued for their speed and affectionate temperament, making them excellent pets for families.
