Maine Coon

Maine Coon

Description:
Large and gentle, Maine Coons are known as gentle giants with fluffy coats, bushy tails, and friendly personalities. They are highly adaptable and great family pets.

Fun Fact:
Maine Coons are one of the largest domesticated cat breeds and can weigh up to 18 pounds or more.

History:
Hailing from Maine, they are North America's oldest natural long-haired breed. Folklore suggests they are part raccoon (genetically impossible!), but they likely descended from seafaring cats. They were prize winners at the first American cat shows in the late 1800s.
